GTM Injector

Stéphane Hamel 11 months ago in Tag Manager 0

Allow to inject a GTM container on pages matching a specific rule.

This feature should block any existing container and replace it with yours.

This might be useful when the GTM container isn't yet deployed but you want to develop and do tests, or for complex environments where you can't work with the already present container.

Exit from GTM preview from the same preview

Oriol Farré 7 months ago in Tag Manager • updated by Stéphane Hamel 7 months ago 3

Add a button in the GTM preview pane to leave preview, not just minimize it, so it's not necessary to login to GTM to leave preview

Answer

Done!

Google's way of exiting preview is either going back to the GTM Container and doing "Leave Preview Mode" or when using a shared preview link, reload that link and click on "Exit preview and debug mode" - both methods aren't very practical... so now you have a nice and handy "Exit Preview" button. It will simulate what the shared link method does and get you out of preview for the current container.

GTM: Drag and drop in regex/lookup tables

Julius Fedorovicius 10 months ago in Tag Manager • updated by Stéphane Hamel 10 months ago 1

This would be especially useful in regex tables when I want to insert a new rule somewhere in the middle of list. If drag and drop is too much of a hassle, some other solution of rearrangement would help, like buttons "move up" and "move down"

I agree, since the tests are done in order, it makes a lot of sense to be able to rearrange them!

GTM: Add hamburger menu to Tag list

Sholto 8 months ago in Tag Manager • updated 8 months ago 2

Would be great to be able to access the hamburger menu normally only available once you open the Tag within the overview list. Would enable quick copy/delete/pause/etc from the full list of tags.

Not sure if this is possible but would be amazing time saver when taking over accounts and making large amounts of edits to clients.

Sorting does not work with Floodlight custom variables

Önder Bağcı 3 weeks ago in Tag Manager • updated by Stéphane Hamel 3 weeks ago 4

News sorting options work well with the GA custom dimensions but does not work with Floodlight custom variables. It actually just sort the values and not the keys, so it's very risky for data collection if someone does not notice. Here's a gif.

GTM: Dark background for custom HTML tags and custom JavaScript variables

Cyprien 7 months ago in Tag Manager • updated by Stéphane Hamel 3 days ago 5

Dark background for custom HTML tags and custom JavaScript variables because white backgrounds hurt our delicate eyes ;)

Answer

I just added the dark theme when using the expanded version (it was an omission on my part). It will be there in the next release.

For the line & character indicator, do you mean when you are looking at GTM Preview and there's an error in your tag?

Images are not loading in GTM preview

krvermeulen 2 months ago in Tag Manager • updated by Søren Friis Dam 4 weeks ago 4

The images that are used in GTM Preview no longer work. See attached screenshot. The link to the images gives a 404.

Example: https://www.davinci.tools/img/icons/ConversionLinker.png

In GTM, have the left menu sticky or follow scroll.

raf.calgaro 2 months ago in Tag Manager • updated by Stéphane Hamel 4 weeks ago 1

When in GTM, it would be nice not to have to scroll to the top to be able to click on the tags. It would be nice if that left menu was sticky or would follow during the scroll.

How to use GTM Sort Settings?

krvermeulen 3 months ago in Tag Manager • updated by Stéphane Hamel 4 weeks ago 3
I expect that this function lets me sort custom dimensions, lookup tables and so on while editing but I don't see a button appearing to sort the variables. How do I use this? Thanks! Koen

tag manager preview incognito requires login

Ethan Bartolic 3 months ago in Tag Manager • updated 3 months ago 5

When I use the share preview link in an incognito window with da Vinci enabled in incognito I am required to log into my google account. At that point I have then logged into gtm again and must start a preview from within the incognito gtm session. Disabling da Vinci in incognito resolve this, so it is definitely Da Vinci, which I love to death and want to have active in incognito windows.

Found the problem! It was just a wrong check when handling the "Remember Me" feature. It will be fixed with the next release.
