GTM Injector

Supermetrics Support Team 2 years ago in Tag Manager updated 11 months ago 2

Allow to inject a GTM container on pages matching a specific rule.

This feature should block any existing container and replace it with yours.

This might be useful when the GTM container isn't yet deployed but you want to develop and do tests, or for complex environments where you can't work with the already present container.

GTM: Drag and drop in regex/lookup tables

Julius Fedorovicius 2 years ago in Tag Manager updated by Supermetrics Support Team 2 years ago 1

This would be especially useful in regex tables when I want to insert a new rule somewhere in the middle of list. If drag and drop is too much of a hassle, some other solution of rearrangement would help, like buttons "move up" and "move down"

Answer

I agree, since the tests are done in order, it makes a lot of sense to be able to rearrange them!

Exit from GTM preview from the same preview

Oriol Farré 2 years ago in Tag Manager updated by Supermetrics Support Team 2 years ago 3

Add a button in the GTM preview pane to leave preview, not just minimize it, so it's not necessary to login to GTM to leave preview

Answer

Done!

Google's way of exiting preview is either going back to the GTM Container and doing "Leave Preview Mode" or when using a shared preview link, reload that link and click on "Exit preview and debug mode" - both methods aren't very practical... so now you have a nice and handy "Exit Preview" button. It will simulate what the shared link method does and get you out of preview for the current container.

GTM: Add hamburger menu to Tag list

Sholto 2 years ago in Tag Manager updated by Supermetrics Support Team 12 months ago 3

Would be great to be able to access the hamburger menu normally only available once you open the Tag within the overview list. Would enable quick copy/delete/pause/etc from the full list of tags.

Not sure if this is possible but would be amazing time saver when taking over accounts and making large amounts of edits to clients.

Answer

This is similar to this other request: https://support.davinci.tools/communities/1/topics/77-add-pausecopydelete-options-from-within-tags-trigger-variable-list

I have started working on it - for now, Pause/Unpause will work in the next release.

Add Pause|Copy|Delete options from within Tags, Trigger, Variable List

Thomas Bosilevac 12 months ago in Tag Manager updated by Supermetrics Support Team 11 months ago 8

This would save a little time when needing to go down and Pause\Copy a bunch of Tags (or others).  From a UX perspective, Pause and Copy would likely be the "safest" and I can see the UI with two small buttons much like the Refund Transactions within GA.  Plus, I imagine we would want a confirmation for Deleting an element anyway.

Sorting does not work with Floodlight custom variables

Önder Bağcı 1 year ago in Tag Manager updated by Supermetrics Support Team 1 year ago 4

News sorting options work well with the GA custom dimensions but does not work with Floodlight custom variables. It actually just sort the values and not the keys, so it's very risky for data collection if someone does not notice. Here's a gif.

In GTM, have the left menu sticky or follow scroll.

raf.calgaro 1 year ago in Tag Manager updated by Supermetrics Support Team 1 year ago 3

When in GTM, it would be nice not to have to scroll to the top to be able to click on the tags. It would be nice if that left menu was sticky or would follow during the scroll.

Answer

Done! Will be available in the next release.

Persistent Sorting of Tags, Triggers and Variables

Önder Bağcı 2 years ago in Tag Manager updated by Supermetrics Support Team 1 year ago 5

I frequently sort by Last Edited column to find the tags, triggers or variable that I created in the near past but it defaults to Sort by Name every time I change the page. It would great if we could keep this persistent once we change it. Thanks.

Answer

Done! It will be available in the next release.

GTM: Dark background for custom HTML tags and custom JavaScript variables

Cyprien 2 years ago in Tag Manager updated by Supermetrics Support Team 1 year ago 5

Dark background for custom HTML tags and custom JavaScript variables because white backgrounds hurt our delicate eyes ;)

Answer

I just added the dark theme when using the expanded version (it was an omission on my part). It will be there in the next release.

For the line & character indicator, do you mean when you are looking at GTM Preview and there's an error in your tag?

Error message appears "Third party cookies must be enabled for GTM Preview to work"

gavryshchuk 1 month ago in Tag Manager updated by Supermetrics Support Team 4 weeks ago 3

When Da Vinci is enabled, I can't use GTM. I get this error "Third party cookies must be enabled for GTM Preview to work"

Of course, browser settings are fine. When I disable Da Vinci, everything works as usual.

Answer

This is a new feature - many people were reporting having problems with GTM Preview not working and the solution was to enable 3rd party cookies.

Give it a try - go in Chrome preferences, under Site Settings / Cookies and site data, and activate "Block third-party cookies".

Then try to launch GTM Preview and you will notice it simply doesn't work.

It will automatically show if GTM is supposed to be in preview mode, but it can't activate it.

Let me know if you still think you are getting this error and you shouldn't.
