Easily allow to send report by email at a given interval.
This is handled by Google, see announcement here: https://support.google.com/datastudio/answer/9263641/
Title says it all: it would be interesting to be able to easily do a PDF of all pages in a dashboard.
This is now supported directly by Google - see https://support.google.com/datastudio/answer/9125317
The Data Studio has updated their navigation bar look and functionality so I now can't see your timer to set my preferred time intervals of refresh. See the screenshot below.
For my clients, I would like something that shouts 'SAMPLING' as soon as they are looking at sampled data in their DS dashboards. The easiest way to do this is probably to auto-enable the 'show all sampling' link that appears in the footer in tiny font. I emailed you about this, thought I add it to the list too :)
Completed. This will be available in the next release. When this is enabled in the Options dialog, the "show sampling" will be active by default.
That is, the option to set like: AutoRefresh: "Automatically refresh the dashboard at the desired interval" so that the list of dashboard cards can be rotated by themselves, eg every 30 seconds.
There's already a Da Vinci Tools feature for Data Studio which allows you to refresh at different intervals, but not on a per-item basis. That is, all the underlying data is being refreshed. Or do you mean something else?
Editing a custom field (metric) you currently have in use is a hassle! When you select the edit button you just get some display options. I need to click "Create new field" in the bottom right. Then from there do "All fields" then search for the field I want to edit, then i can edit it.
For filters this UX is there. If you add a filter to a table/graph then when you hover over it in the list of filters there is a edit button and you edit that filter directly there. Custom fields (metrics) don't have this, they should!
Well... sadly... after looking into it more carefully, there's no easy way to do it because the field element shown on the page doesn't have any indication if it's a custom field or not. I will park this for now but keep it as a potential feature in the future, once I have worked a little bit more on the more advanced modules which will bring subscribers value.
In Data Studio line charts you can easily select from a drop-down to produce a second line on your chart...e.g. vs last month, vs last year, etc. So it baffles me that this can't be done in, for example, bar charts to product a second set of columns for the comparison. Would be really useful to have this feature irrespective of the chart type.
I can't easily alter the functionality of the current widgets.
However, in the specific case you describe, use a time series chart, under Style, change it to column, and enable the comparison period. Voilà! (unless I have misunderstood your request!)
Data Studio's date range filter brings up a full calendar of dates to choose from. However, sometimes a dashboard may contain data that only became available from date X when it was implemented, so it would be very useful to be able to stop users selecting dates prior to this....or a simpler alternative may be to black-out those dates visually if preventing selection is not possible
In order to know the real starting date of the data I would have to actually make the same query just to know the oldest data date, which would be time consuming for very little benefits.
I would like to have the ability to have Slider filters in data studio. For example for displaying Prices. Currently, my only option is checkboxes with price ranges. You can see how I currently use price ranges at this site: https://www.bikechaos.com/Search
Adding new design elements to the DS interface is something very difficult to do - plus, there's a big chance that Google will bring this type of feature themselves in the future.
